Community standards

Rules written to protect the story.

These categories are modular placeholders for the final server rules. Titles remain visible while each explanation can be expanded as needed.

01

Major Rules

The non-negotiable standards that protect the community and its stories.

Harassment, discrimination, targeted abuse, or deliberately making another player feel unsafe is not roleplay. Stop a scene when staff intervention or an agreed safety boundary requires it.

Do not use exploits, external tools, stream information, alternate characters, or out-of-character knowledge to gain an in-character advantage.

Do not disconnect, respawn, or use out-of-character systems to escape consequences. If a technical problem interrupts a scene, communicate and make a reasonable effort to resume it.
02

Roleplay Standards

Shared expectations for believable, collaborative scenes.

Treat serious injury, lethal force, arrest, and credible threats with appropriate weight. Your character can be brave, reckless, or defiant, but should still recognize meaningful danger.

Give others a fair opportunity to react. Avoid forcing outcomes, narrating another character’s actions, or escalating so quickly that nobody else can contribute.

Characters may disagree intensely. Players should remain cooperative, communicate problems through the proper channels, and never convert an in-character loss into out-of-character retaliation.
03

Public Safety Rules

Additional responsibilities for characters entrusted with public authority.

Public-safety members use their authority to facilitate fair and engaging roleplay. Rank within one agency does not automatically create authority over another agency or its personnel.

Enforcement actions, searches, detentions, medical decisions, and use of force must follow the applicable law and department policy. Deviations should create accountable roleplay rather than immunity from consequence.

Public institutions cooperate with authorized audits and retain the records needed for meaningful review, subject to privacy and active-investigation protections.
04

Crime & Conflict

Standards for escalation, criminal stories, and competitive encounters.

Before initiating serious violence, make the threat and opportunity to respond clear whenever the circumstances reasonably allow it.

Criminal activity should produce investigation, negotiation, relationships, or lasting consequences. Repetitive mechanics with no story purpose may be restricted.

Winning a scene does not erase what happened. Evidence, injuries, reputation, and legal consequences remain part of the character’s ongoing story.
05

Community Conduct

How we handle disagreement and protect a sustainable community.

Do not derail an active scene with prolonged rule arguments. Preserve any relevant evidence, finish or safely pause the scene, and use the designated report process.

Follow an immediate staff direction, then use the appeal or oversight process if you believe it was mistaken. Good-faith criticism is welcome; harassment and forum-shopping are not.
